Update February 3: Fire Emblem: Heroes, I Love Hue, and Tomb of the Mask round up the newest additions to the Google Play Store that we think deserve your attention!
Fire Emblem: Heroes
Easily the biggest release of the week, Nintendo has released the latest chapter in their storied tactical RPG series to mobile! Whether or not you're a fan of the Fire Emblem franchise, the game is launching with a notable amount of hype and best of all it's free, so there's no harm in checking it out to see if it's for you.
The story follows two siblings from the Askran Kingdom — Prince Alfonse and Princess Sharena — who must summon an army of heroes to do battle with the rival Emblian Empire, who seeks to take control of the world. But rather than actually playing as the Prince or Princess, you control the action on the battlefield by strategically moving your heroes around with touch and drag and swipe gestures. There are hundreds of heroes to unlock and summon in the game, featuring a healthy mix of brand-new characters alongside classic characters from across the entire Fire Emblem series.
There is an element of that free-to-play model that will tempt you with in-app purchases, but you should be able to overlook that aspect and enjoy this Nintendo original on your Android device

I Love Hue
I love elegant and simple puzzle games and so should you! I Love Hue is a super-relaxing color-based puzzle game that gives you an eye pleasing palate of colors and scrambles them up. Using the pinned tiles for reference, you must reorder the remaining tiles so that the colors all flow nicely again.
Featuring a calming soundtrack and a very laid back puzzle experience with no timers or punishments for making mistakes. You collect hearts as you complete levels, which allow you to unlock more complex level packs as you progress. You must spend three Prisms to play each level, but you start off with 100 and are gifted daily prisms, so hopefully you can stave off having to buy them via in-app purchases.
I Love Hue is a great, chill game for unwinding after a stressful day… but for obvious reasons is not recommended for people with color blindness. I mean, unless you really want a challenge, i guess.

Tomb of the Mask
Tomb of the Mask made its debut for iOS around this time last year, and has finally landed on Android. It's a stylish retro puzzle game much in the same visual style of Downwell with challenging level designs that require twitch reflexes and calculated movements.
It instantly reminded me of those ice levels from Chip's Challenge (if you're old enough to remember that classic), where once you set your character off in motion, he doesn't stop until he hits something. Each level features an ideal path to follow with coins, along with stars you must collect to unlock more levels. There's two ways to play: Map mode and Arcade mode. Map mode breaks things up into stages featuring stars that help you to earn more coins if you collect them all. Arcade mode is an endless mode where you're constantly racing against a wave of neon death that slowly crawls up the screen.
It's a super cool game that comes highly recommended.
