Except for a slightly different design, the POCO M3 isn't very different from the Redmi 9 Power.
What you need to know
- POCO M3 is now official in India.
- The phone comes with a Snapdragon 662 chipset, triple rear cameras, and a massive 6000mAh battery.
- It will be going on sale in the country starting February 9 for ₹10,999 ($150).
POCO today launched the budget-friendly M3 smartphone in India, four months after its debut in Europe. The phone is a follow-up to the POCO M2, which was launched in September last year. While it isn't a massive upgrade over the POCO M2, it does have the specs to give some of the best cheap Android phones a run for their money.
POCO's latest budget phone sports a 6.53-inch waterdrop notch display with FHD+ resolution. Powering the POCO M3 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 662 processor, clubbed with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. In the camera department, the phone comes with a triple-lens system at the rear and an 8MP selfie camera on the front. The triple-camera setup includes a 48MP main sensor, a 2MP macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor.
Aside from its funky design, one of the other major highlights is the massive 6000mAh battery. You also get 18W fast charging support, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. On the software side of things, the POCO M3 runs Android 10-based MIUI 12 for Poco out of the box.
POCO has priced the M3 at ₹10,999 ($150) in India for the base 6GB/64GB variant and ₹11,999 ($165) for the 6GB/128GB variant. It will be available for purchase in the country through Flipkart starting at 12 PM IST on February 9.
Redmi 9 Power
The Redmi 9 Power may look slightly different from the POCO M3, but the two phones are nearly identical in most other areas. You get the same 6.53-inch FHD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor, and a 6000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
