Last week we heard that HTC was working on a new handset that would be headed to (at least) Sprint in the US. It's called HTC Bolt, in an implied nod to the Thunderbolt from 2011. And now we already have a leaked press render of the Bolt to gawk at.
As you can see, the overall design of the Bolt is incredibly similar to what we've seen in the HTC 10, down to the all-metal build, positioning of the antenna lines, and the front fingerprint scanner. Some things (like the camera flash on the back) have been moved around compared to the Taiwanese company's flagship, but even so you could easily mistake this for a 10.
Eagle-eyed people (or those who read this story's headline up until the very end) may have noticed that something's missing in the Bolt - aside from the laser autofocus. Yes, the 3.5mm headset jack is nowhere to be found here, so HTC has already decided to emulate what Apple's done for its new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. We'll let you decide if that's a good thing or not.
Unfortunately we still don't have any details about the Bolt's specs, its pricing, or whether it will be Sprint-exclusive or not. That said, its announcement or release date could be October 18, since that's featured on the screen of this leaked render.
