Google Pixel
The Google Pixe is not just a great phone; it's a duo of phones in different sizes that both pack some serious power. Available as the 5-inch Pixel and the 5.5-inch Pixel XL, Google's strategy with its first home-built device is clear: simplicity and speed. And it delivers.
The design may not be particularly inspiring — though it is clearly "inspired" by other devices on the market — but the Pixel has some of the latest specs in the Android ecosystem, including a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 128GB of storage. The 12.3MP rear camera is a big improvement over last year's Nexus 6P, and thanks to some Google Magic is one of the fastest out there.
On the software side, Google Assistant is a tentpole feature that shouldn't be overlooked, especially if you're already invested in Google's services. It's smart right now, letting you ask all sorts of questions, but it will only get better with time.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge
Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are the newest model of its flagship brand and deserve all the accolades they have been getting. Featuring expandable memory via microSD and a bigger battery, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge manage to also improve the sleek, one-piece design from its predecessor. On top of that, both phones are water-resistant, making them super appealing to all the accident-prone people of the world.
With a stunning Quad HD Super AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass — found on the front and back — these devices look beautiful. Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have a fantastic camera that produces great photos, even in low-light conditions.
The Galaxy S7 edge has a slightly bigger screen and a longer lasting battery.

LG V20
The LG V20 is big, it's intense, and it has a lot of really impressive features. It is also the only phone outside of Google's own Pixel, to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, which is a pretty impressive feat.
This is an imposing device, featuring a large 5.7-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. It's also got a removable battery which, along with the G5, is one of the few flagship products to offer such a feature. With the unique Second Screen up top for notifications and easy-to-reach shortcuts, and two rear cameras, each with their own focal length for incredible effects in any situation, the V20 is a powerhouse in more ways than one.
The V20 is LG's true flagship of 2016, and largely makes up for the mistakes of the G5. It's also one of the best "big" phones on the market right now, and can certainly stand in for the Note 7's departure.

Moto Z and Z Force
If you're curious about wielding a modular smartphone but the LG G5's pop-out method doesn't seem like your thing, don't give up. Both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force utilize magnetic modules that affix easily to the back of the phone, and both smartphones are currently Verizon exclusives.
The Moto Z and Moto Z Force run on the same hardware as the competition, including a Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, and a microSD expansion slot. Both are equipped with 5.5-inch AMOLED displays, though the Z Force features an extra "ShatterShield" layer on top, hence its moniker. And since it's supposed to be a "force" to recon with, it's equipped with the better-performing 21-megapixel rear-facing camera, compared to the Z's 13-megapixel one.
The Moto Z and Moto Z Force also offer more varieties of modules than LG's G5. Verizon sells most of them, including the Insta-Share Projector Moto Mod and the Kate Spade Power Pack. You can choose between two color combinations: black and lunar grey or white and fine gold.
