Android 9.0 Pie stable update is now rolling out to the Nokia 7 Plus

The Nokia 7 Plus is the first non-Pixel device to get Google's Digital Wellbeing features.

HMD Global announced last month that it would deliver the Android 9.0 Pie stable update to the Nokia 7 Plus before the end of September, and the company is sticking to its word. The stable Pie update is now rolling out to the device, and HMD has mentioned that the Digital Wellbeing features — with the dashboard and app timers — will be added soon.

For now, the update includes all the major additions in Android 9.0 Pie, including app actions and slices, adaptive battery mode, and the new navigation gestures. From HMD Global's Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas:

We constantly strive to deliver on our promise of offering pure, secure, up-to-date Android on Nokia smartphones. Today, we are extremely delighted to start the roll out of Android 9 Pie on Nokia 7 plus – making us among the first to offer the latest innovations from Google, including Android One exclusive features such as App Notifications, to the value flagship tier.

The Nokia 7 Plus continues to be one of the best $400 phones in the market today, and a lot of that comes down to HMD's commitment to timely updates. With the phone receiving the stable Pie update, HMD will turn its attention to other devices in its portfolio. If you're rocking the Nokia 7 Plus, hit up the phone's settings to manually initiate the download.
